Energizing & Relaxing: Drum Circle Memory Café

We enjoyed getting into the groove this past weekend: Saturday, December 15, 10am – 12pm, at our Topsfield Memory Café at Trinity Church.

Karen, a Memory Café volunteer, enjoyed loosening up and going with the flow!

A total of 16 joined our circle.  A team of 6 volunteers welcomed 10 guests from Topsfield, Beverly, and Gloucester.  Some brought their own drums.  Some used ours.  After the 60-minute facilitated session, three young men originally from Nigeria, Solomon, Happy & Friday, now professional care partners, thrilled us with their djembe and gathering drum rhythms.

We are now putting together a small group to play mid-January – mid-March, on a weeknight (Mon, Tues or Wed – to be decided by the majority of folks interested).

If you’d like to drum with us weekly starting in the new year, please contact us.  You can bring your own drum, or borrow one from our collection (funded by MA DDS).

Moving forward with a listening heart,

vision, inquiry, and action,

Mary
